Mangaluru, Jul 15: St Peter City Deanery, in collaboration with ICYM Angelore Youth Movement, successfully organized Yuva Milan & Pavsa Khel 2026 on July 12 at Angelore Jubilee Hall. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 259 youth from across the deanery.
The registration commenced, followed by an ice-breaking session, conducted by Sweedal Pais, animator of YCS Angelore, which helped participants interact and prepare for the day's activities. The first session, ‘Master your money, shape your future,’ was led by Robin Vas, who shared valuable insights on financial planning and responsible money management.






















An inspiring animation and testimony session titled ‘Power of saying yes’ was conducted by Viola Lewis, MIJARC coordinator, Karnataka Region, along with Floyd Pinto, former joint secretary of the diocese of Mangalore. Their life experiences motivated the youth to courageously respond to God's call.
The second session on Media Evangelisation, themed ‘All people are born as originals, but many die as photocopies,’ was delivered by Maria D'Silva, former secretary of the diocese of Mangalore. She encouraged the participants to use social media responsibly and remain authentic witnesses of Christ.
The inaugural programme began and was compered by Darly Monteiro and Clerina Mascarenhas.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the light of Christ and the beginning of the event. Joel D'Souza, president of ICYM St Peter City Deanery, welcomed the gathering. Fr Fredrick Monteiro delivered an inspiring message encouraging the youth to remain active in faith and service.
A special felicitation was held for the newly appointed vicar forane, Fr Richard Coelho. The citation was read by Leon D'Souza, joint secretary of ICYM Angelore. The outgoing St Peter City Deanery Committee (2025–2026) was also honoured, with the citation read by Melson Shawn Miranda, secretary of ICYM St Peter City Deanery. Fr Richard Coelho then addressed the gathering, encouraging the youth to become strong witnesses of Christ through unity, service, and leadership.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Olinca Lobo, secretary of ICYM Angelore. All the participants joined together in the celebration of the Holy Eucharistic Mass, followed by lunch. Pavsa Khel 2026 The much-awaited Pavsa Khel commenced with the felicitation of the newly elected diocese of Mangalore ICYM president, Christon Menezes, and vice president, Rayan Noronha.
The games were hosted by Elroy Omzoor, who began with a fun demonstration by splashing water on the participants, instantly creating an atmosphere of excitement. He then explained the rules and officially inaugurated the games. The youth enthusiastically participated in the various water games, displaying excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, and joy.
Following the games, everyone enjoyed an energetic Baila dance accompanied by DJ Nishan. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Fr Lawrence Cutinha, director of ICYM St Peter City Deanery, Fr Fredrick Monteiro, and the Deanery office bearers.

The programme concluded with refreshments, bringing to an end a memorable day of faith, fellowship, learning, and celebration.
Event message: Yuva Milan & Pavsa Khel 2026 reminded every young person that true discipleship is built on faith, unity, service, and joyful fellowship. While the sessions inspired the participants to grow spiritually, financially, and digitally, the games strengthened friendship, teamwork, and community. Together, the youth celebrated Christ through learning, prayer, and joyful participation. ‘Faith that inspires, friendships that unite, and joy that overflows!’
Yuva Milan & Pavsa Khel 2026 brought together 259 young hearts to learn, pray, celebrate, and grow as one family in Christ.
