Bantwal, Jul 11: A three-vehicle collision occurred near Bhandaribettu in Bantwal on Friday when motorists slowed down to give way to an ambulance on an emergency call. No fatalities were reported in the incident.

According to preliminary information, the drivers of a pickup vehicle and a car travelling ahead reduced speed and attempted to move to the side of the road to allow an ambulance, which was proceeding with its siren on, to pass.

At the same time, a bus approaching from behind reportedly went out of the driver's control and rammed into the car. The impact pushed the car into the pickup vehicle travelling ahead, resulting in a chain collision.

All three vehicles sustained damage in the accident. A few occupants suffered minor injuries.

The mishap disrupted traffic in the area for some time before normal movement was restored.
