Karkala: Christ King NSS unit celebrates Vanamahotsava with tree plantation drive

Media Release

Karkala, Jul 7: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Christ King Pre-University College, under the Christ King Educational Institutions, organized a Vanamahotsava (tree plantation festival) on the institution's campus.

As part of the programme, NSS volunteers planted various species of saplings, marking the occasion with a commitment to environmental conservation.

Speaking on the occasion, NSS programme officer and commerce lecturer Deepak said, "Nature is our life, and the destruction of nature ultimately leads to our own destruction. Students should develop love and concern for the environment and actively work towards its protection. Every individual should plant and nurture at least one tree every year, thereby contributing to a greener planet."

Sanskrit lecturer Kiran Poojary, English lecturers Shiji C K and Allen Roshan D'Mello, and statistics lecturer Madhushree were present during the programme.

The event was jointly organized by the NSS unit of Christ King Pre-University College and the Christ King Education Trust, with active participation from NSS volunteers.
