Karkala, Jul 3: The investiture ceremony of the newly elected Student Council of Christ King English Medium Higher Primary School and High School was held at the institution's auditorium.
Fr Canute Barboza, the chief guest, inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp and formally launched the new Student Council. Addressing the gathering, he stressed the importance of balancing academics with co-curricular activities for the holistic development of students. He appreciated the institution for providing ample opportunities for students to showcase their talents and skills.



Assistant sub-inspector Shekhar Naik of Karkala Police Station, another chief guest, urged students to imbibe the guidance of their parents and teachers and cultivate good values to become responsible citizens.
Rotarian Dr Bharatesh A said that good conduct, discipline, humility and cultural values are essential for achieving success and earning respect in society. He lauded the institution for instilling life skills and moral values in children from an early age and encouraged students to apply these lessons in their lives.
Rotarian H Manjunath Hegde, president of Rotary Club Karkala Rock City, called upon students to develop leadership qualities during their school years and grow into responsible members of society.
Presiding over the function, Dr Peter Fernandes, member of the Christ King Education Trust, remarked that today's students possess immense potential and intelligence. He encouraged them to use their abilities for constructive purposes and bring pride to their school, parents and society.
High school headmistress Josna Snehalatha administered the oath of office to the newly elected student council members.
Higher primary school headmaster I Christopher Kotian delivered the introductory address.
High school leader Thanmay Uday Shetty welcomed the gathering, while Primary school leader Milan D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by students Jordan D'Souza and Shruta Jain.
Student counsellor Dr Sister Charlotte Siqueira and junior primary school headmistress Sr Jolly Jacob were present on the dais.
