Dubai, Jul 1: The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah for the 2026–2028 term was held with grandeur at Dubai Grand Hotel by Fortune in Dubai.
Karnataka Sangha Sharjah has, for the past 23 years, been promoting the Kannada language, literature, culture, and community service in the UAE, earning the appreciation of the Kannadiga diaspora.
The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by a well-conducted compering by Ritesh Anchan.



















Satish Poojary briefed the gathering on the journey and achievements of the Sangha, while Ganesh Rai explained the Sangha's bylaws to the members. This was followed by the introduction of the newly elected executive committee members.
Former president Ganesh Rai administered the oath of office to the newly elected president and office-bearers.
Renowned theatre personality Vishwanath Shetty took oath as the new president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah and expressed his commitment to introducing new initiatives for the development of the Sangha, promoting the Kannada language and culture, and strengthening unity among non-resident Kannadigas.

Joint sports secretaries: Jeevan and Mohammed Abrar Ulla Shariff
On the occasion, Sudarshan Hegde, Suresh N Shetty, Kiran, Sujith Fernandes, Suman Joy Vas, Vitthal Rishan Nayak, and Vijay Kumar Shetty were warmly welcomed as new members of the Sangha.
Members of the Sangha's Advisory Board—Harish Sherigar, Joseph Mathais, and Ramachandra Hegde—were present on the dais and extended their best wishes to the new committee. In their addresses, they called upon all members to work together for the continued growth of the organisation.
Advisers M E Moolur, Ganesh Rai, Satish Poojary, and Noel D'Almeida also offered guidance for the Sangha's future activities and congratulated the newly elected committee.
Addressing the gathering, president Vishwanath Shetty said, "Our goal is to further strengthen Karnataka Sangha Sharjah and organise more impactful programmes promoting Kannada language, art, culture, and social service while bringing all Kannadigas together on a common platform."
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by general secretary Vighnesh Kundapur, who expressed gratitude to the advisory board, advisers, members, guests, and all Kannada enthusiasts for their support in making the event a success. Lunch was served to all those present.
