Mangaluru, Jun 22: Yoga, originating in ancient India, is a holistic practice that unites the mind, body, and spirit through physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), and meditation. Milagres Central School celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day with the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’. The theme emphasizes the importance of adopting yoga as a lifelong practice to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being at every stage of life.

The programme commenced with a prayer song, creating a serene and positive atmosphere. The students assembled enthusiastically and actively participated in the yoga session. Under the guidance of the physical education trainer Keshava Naika, students practiced various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. The trainer explained the benefits of each posture and encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily routine for a healthier lifestyle.

The students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication throughout the session. The synchronized performance of yoga postures by the students added grace and vibrancy to the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, principal Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes highlighted the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy body and a peaceful mind.

Mary Serina Correa warmly welcomed the gathering.

The celebration concluded on a joyful note, inspiring students to embrace yoga as a way of life and reinforcing the message of health, wellness, and inner peace.
