Carmel School holds Investiture Ceremony, inducts Student Council for 2026-27

Mangaluru, Jun 19: The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 was held with great dignity and enthusiasm at Carmel School on June 18. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected student council and served as a reminder of the responsibilities and values associated with leadership.

The programme commenced with the arrival and escorting of the chief guest, Fr Antony Derrick SJ, to the venue. The gathering then witnessed the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Sr Rosevera, principal, Sr Savitha, vice principal, the head boy Andre Francis and the head girl Nitasha Edel symbolizing the triumph of knowledge, wisdom and truth.

This was followed by a Solemn prayer service, invoking God's blessings upon the newly elected leaders and the entire school community. The atmosphere was further enlivened by a graceful Welcome Dance performed by the students, expressing joy and gratitude on this special occasion.

The highlight of the event was the leaders' march, during which the newly elected members of the Student Council marched proudly before the gathering. The portfolios and responsibilities of each office bearer were then formally read out.

The Investiture Ceremony continued with the pinning of badges and sashes, symbolizing the transfer of authority and responsibility to the student leaders. The newly elected council members then took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the values of the school and discharge their duties with sincerity, integrity and dedication.

A significant moment of the ceremony was the handing over of the school flag by the principal to the head boy and head girl, signifying the trust placed in them to lead the student body and uphold the honour of the institution.

Following the investiture, the head boy addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the confidence reposed in the council and assuring everyone of the team's commitment to serving the school faithfully.

Teacher Lidwin then introduced the chief guest, Fr Antony Derrick SJ. In his inspiring address, he emphasized the importance of responsible leadership, service, discipline and teamwork. He encouraged the student leaders to become role models and lead by example in all their endeavors.

The ceremony also included the distribution of prizes to deserving students, recognizing their achievements and motivating others to strive for excellence.

Thereafter, Sr Rosevera, principal delivered her message, congratulating the newly elected council members and reminding them that true leadership is rooted in humility, service and commitment. She urged them to work together for the welfare and progress of the school.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, the management, teachers, students and all those who contributed to the success of the event.

The ceremony came to an end with the singing of the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired and motivated to work towards a successful and productive academic year.

The Investiture Ceremony 2026 was a memorable occasion that celebrated leadership, responsibility, and service, inspiring the young leaders of Carmel School to strive for excellence and uphold the values of their institution.
