Sixth day of Novena devotion preceding the annual feast of St Anthony held at Dornahalli, Mysuru

Mysuru, Jun 9: The sixth day of the Novena devotion in preparation for the grand Annual Feast of St Anthony was solemnly observed on Tuesday, June 9, at St. Anthony’s Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysuru.

The morning Eucharistic celebration at 10 am was presided over by Dr Thomas A Vazhapilly, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Mysore. The faithful gathered in large numbers to participate in the holy Mass and seek the blessings and intercession of St Anthony.

The evening Mass was celebrated by Fr Arogya Swamy, parish priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Srirampura. The celebration witnessed the active participation of devotees who came together in prayer and devotion as part of the ongoing Novena preparations for the annual feast.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the Novena prayers were offered in honour of St Anthony for the intentions of the devotees. The devotion concluded with the procession of the holy statue of St Anthony and the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, fostering a spirit of faith, hope, and spiritual renewal among the faithful.

As the annual feast draws nearer, pilgrims and devotees from different parts of Karnataka and neighbouring states continue to visit the Basilica, seeking the powerful intercession of St. Anthony and preparing themselves spiritually for the feast celebrations.
