Mangaluru, Jun 8: The Department of BBA, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, organized an industrial visit to Srinivas Port Hospital, Baikampady, on June 6.
The visit witnessed the participation of 72 students from II and III Year BBA programmes, including Hospital Administration (HN), FinTech, BRD, and AI specializations. The students were accompanied by Prof Shwetha N S and Prof Prakruthi.
The visit was organised to provide students with practical exposure to hospital operations, healthcare services, and administrative functions. The primary objective was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world healthcare administration by helping students understand the functioning of various hospital departments and the role of management in delivering quality healthcare services.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the hospital staff. Ms. Vaishnavi and other employees of Srinivas Port Hospital guided the students through various departments and provided detailed explanations regarding their functions, responsibilities, and working procedures. The students gained firsthand knowledge of hospital operations, patient care and service delivery, administrative functions, and the coordination between clinical and non-clinical departments.
The interactive sessions enabled students to understand how different departments work collaboratively to ensure effective patient care and operational efficiency. Students also interacted with healthcare professionals and administrative staff, gaining valuable insights into industry practices, challenges, and management processes within a healthcare institution.
The visit proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students strengthen their analytical, managerial, and observational skills while enhancing their understanding of healthcare operations, teamwork, and organizational structure. The programme was well received and provided valuable practical exposure to the field of hospital administration and healthcare management.
