Mangaluru, Jun 2: Amid an atmosphere of excitement, enthusiasm, and anticipation, St Agnes School CBSE, Mangaluru, ushered in the new academic year with a grand reopening ceremony held on June 1, in the school hall. The occasion marked a meaningful beginning for students, teachers, and parents as they embarked on another year of learning, growth, and achievement.

The programme began with a warm welcome, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC, vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC, assistant head girl Aradhana, and Tr Reena, symbolizing the light of knowledge. A prayer service and a graceful welcome dance added a spiritual and festive touch to the occasion.

A special highlight was the formal welcome of the newly appointed principal, Sr Jenifer Moras AC. She was introduced by Tr Sumana and welcomed with a potted plant by vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC. New faculty members were introduced by Tr Vindhya, while new students were welcomed by Tr Violet. To make them feel valued and comfortable, the Principal personally presented smile badges to the newcomers.

The celebration came alive with an energetic action song performed by teachers and students. Addressing the gathering, principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC inspired students through a thought-provoking story, encouraging them to recognize their unique talents, believe in themselves, and strive for excellence.

During the programme, Fatima Zoha was felicitated for securing first place in the 6th State Level Kickboxing Championship, earning applause for bringing laurels to the school.

The reopening was also memorable for UKG students, who began their academic journey amid cheerful smiles and warm welcome. Teachers greeted them with a welcome song, colourful hand bands, and a prayer service seeking God’s blessings. Fun games, interactive activities, beautifully arranged classrooms, and sweet distribution made their first day joyful and engaging.

The LKG reopening on June 2 was equally vibrant. The children arrived excitedly with their school bags and were welcomed with smiley brochures by teachers. UKG students greeted them with dance movements and colourful hand fans. The day featured a prayer service, welcome song, fun-filled games, activities, and sweets, creating a memorable and happy start to their school life.

Reflecting on the occasion, vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC emphasized that every new academic year offers an opportunity to nurture young minds through learning, character formation, and holistic development.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by assistant school head girl Aradhana, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
