Mangaluru, Jun 2: Carmel School CBSE commenced the academic year 2026–27 with its inaugural assembly held on June 1. The programme was compered by teacher Liffin and began with a prayer service led by teacher Deepthi and team, invoking God's blessings on the new academic year.
The ceremonial lamp was lit by Sister Rosevera, the principal, Sister Savitha, the vice principal and teacher Alice along with student representatives, symbolizing the light of knowledge and wisdom. The principal warmly welcomed the students, staff, and newcomers to the Carmel family and introduced the newly appointed teachers.

In her inspiring address, Sister Rosevera encouraged students to embrace values such as kindness, discipline, dedication, gratitude, respect and responsibility. She reminded them that each new academic year is a fresh opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their goals. Urging students to leave behind past failures and focus on their aspirations, she emphasised the importance of self-belief, perseverance, and hard work. She also highlighted the role of teachers as mentors and guides who support students throughout their educational journey.
The principal further stressed the importance of respecting parents, teachers, and fellow students and upholding the core values of the Carmel School. She encouraged students to maintain punctuality, observe school rules, and actively participate in school activities. The significance of cultivating moral values and discipline in everyday life was also highlighted.
The assembly featured the school choir, which rendered the school song, filling the atmosphere with a sense of pride and belonging. Important announcements for the academic year were alsoshared, and the programme concluded on an optimistic note, inspiring students to begin the year with enthusiasm and determination.
