Mangaluru, Jun 2: Ladyhill School (ICSE), Urwa, Mangaluru, ushered in the academic year 2026–2027 with a spiritually enriching and professionally empowering staff enrichment programme, setting a positive tone for a year of learning, growth, and excellence.
The inaugural programme commenced on May 25 with a solemn and prayerful service held in the school hall and led by KG coordinator Sr Marlin Cristal D'Cunha, along with the staff members. The spiritually uplifting service invoked God's abundant blessings on the institution and its staff for a fruitful and grace-filled academic year. Symbolic offerings, including a lamp, pen, chalk, plant, globe, and clock, were presented, each reflecting the values and mission of education. A thanksgiving hymn further enriched the celebration, creating an atmosphere of gratitude, hope, and renewed faith.


























































Following the prayer service, Sr Maria Kripa, joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions, warmly welcomed the staff and extended heartfelt greetings to the newly appointed members of the Ladyhill family principal Sr Therese Teena AC, administrator Sr Ida Barboza A.C, and KG coordinator Sr Marlin Cristal Dcunha AC. In her address, she encouraged the staff to embrace the new academic year with a spirit of dedication, unity, and a shared commitment to excellence.
Addressing the faculty, principal Sr Therese Teena AC delivered an inspiring message centered on commitment, service, and educational excellence. She expressed her sincere appreciation for the dedicated service rendered by former principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC and the former members of the teaching faculty, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the growth and legacy of the institution. The newly appointed teachers were warmly introduced to the faculty and welcomed into the Ladyhill family. In a thoughtful gesture, Sr Maria Kripa, joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions, presented each teacher with a rose, symbolizing goodwill, fellowship, and the promise of a fruitful association with the institution. Principal Sr Therese Teena AC introduced the newly appointed coordinators to the staff. Marking the occasion, Administrator Sr Ida Barboza AC presented each coordinator with a rose as a token of congratulations, goodwill, and support as they embarked on their leadership roles within the Ladyhill family.
The programme featured an insightful session by administrator Sr Ida Barboza AC on the theme "Guidelines for Effective Teaching in the Classroom." She highlighted the essential qualities and practices of an effective educator, emphasizing the importance of thorough preparation, student engagement, classroom management, and creating a positive learning environment. The session provided valuable guidance to help teachers enhance their professional competence and classroom effectiveness.
This was followed by an informative awareness session on POCSO and POSH conducted by Philomena Pinto, school counsellor at Mount Carmel Central School. The session underscored the importance of fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment while strengthening educators' understanding of child protection and workplace safety.
On May 26, the programme continued with an enlightening session by Sr Carissima AC on the AC Stamp of Education, which beautifully reflected the Apostolic Carmel vision of holistic education grounded in faith, values, and purpose. She highlighted the distinctive characteristics of Apostolic Carmel education and its mission of nurturing individuals who are intellectually competent, morally upright, and socially responsible.
The session was followed by an engaging workshop on stress management conducted by Vaishnavi Reddy, behavioral coach for Children and NEP Practitioner. Through practical insights and interactive activities, she equipped teachers with effective strategies to manage stress, build resilience, maintain emotional well-being, and achieve a healthy work-life balance.
On May 27 and 30, the faculty participated in the Googolplex Communicative English Programme conducted by Raagini, head of the department of communicative English at SR EduTech and soft skills trainer. Through highly interactive and engaging sessions, the teachers explored various aspects of communicative English, including activity-based learning, smart teaching pedagogies, phonics, pronunciation, fluency, and presentation skills. The programme equipped educators with innovative tools and techniques to make classroom communication more effective, engaging, and learner-centered.
The staff enrichment programme concluded on an inspiring and uplifting note, leaving every educator renewed in spirit, enriched in knowledge, and empowered in purpose. Through these enriching days of reflection, professional learning, and personal growth, the teaching fraternity of Ladyhill School ICSE embraced the new academic year with renewed enthusiasm and commitment.
