Mangaluru, Jun 1: Lourdes Central School joyfully commenced the academic year 2026–27on Monday, June 1 at 8 am on the school grounds with great enthusiasm, joy, and renewed hope. The campus came alive with the cheerful presence of students, teachers, and staff members after the vacation break.

The dignitaries were ceremonially welcomed through a disciplined guard of honour presented by the NCC cadets and the school band.

The esteemed dignitaries escorted to the dais included the manager Fr Stany Pereira, principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, vice principal Anitha Thomas, academic coordinators, the head boy, master Karma, and head girl, miss Sharvi Shetty. The majestic welcome reflected the values of discipline, respect, and unity upheld by the institution.

The programme commenced with a warm introductory address highlighting the spirit of new beginnings, renewed aspirations, and the excitement of stepping into another meaningful academic journey together. The gathering acknowledged the importance of the occasion as the school welcomed new manager, Fr Stany Pereira, into the Lourdes family.

The programme then proceeded with a meaningful prayer service. The gathering sought god’s blessings for wisdom, harmony, strength, and guidance for the new academic year and for the leadership of the new Manager.

The gathering also solemnly recited the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, reinforcing the values of responsible citizenship.

The “Thought and Significance of the Day” shared inspiring reflections on new beginnings, growth, and purposeful learning, beautifully capturing the essence of the occasion.

A significant highlight of the programme was the formal welcome, introduction, and honouring of the new manager.

Fr Johnson L Sequeira warmly welcomed Fr Stany Pereira to the Lourdes family and introduced him to the gathering. Father principal also honoured the new manager as a gesture of love, respect, and goodwill.

Adding warmth and joy to the occasion, the staff members of Lourdes Central School presented a melodious welcome song.

On behalf of the LCS family, the head boy, Karma and head girl, Sharvi Shetty greeted the esteemed manager, Fr Stany Pereira with a bouquet of flowers as a token of heartfelt welcome and respect.

The programme also included a warm welcome to the newly recruited staff members, who were presented with flowers as a token of love and appreciation by the management and staff of Lourdes Central School.

The programme further proceeded with the formal inauguration of the academic year 2026–27 led by the principal, vice principal and academic coordinators on the theme ‘The Year of Love, Compassion and Service’. The inauguration marked the official reopening of academic activities and symbolised a fresh beginning filled with opportunities for learning, discipline, character formation, and holistic growth.

The gathering was then addressed by Fr Stany Pereira. In his inspiring message, Father encouraged the students and staff members to work with dedication, positivity, and commitment throughout the academic year and striving together to take the institution to greater heights. His words offered guidance, motivation, and reassurance as the institution embarked on a new journey under his leadership.

The programme also included a special birthday celebration for students and staff members celebrating their birthdays on the day. The gathering extended heartfelt wishes and blessings to all the celebrants, adding joy and togetherness to the occasion.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, the school anthem, and a photo session with the staff members. The event marked a memorable and auspicious beginning to the new academic year under the guidance of the new manager.
