Mangaluru, May 26: The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, Mangaluru, and the Dakshina Kannada Automobile and Tyre Dealers’ Association (DKATDA), Mangaluru, was successfully held on May 26 at Hotel Srinivas, Mangaluru.
The programme was organised with the objective of strengthening industry–academia collaboration and promoting innovation, professional excellence, skill development, and industry exposure for students and faculty members.

The ceremony was conducted under the theme 'Building Partnerships, Driving Excellence' and began with the remembrance and blessings of late Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, founder chancellor of Srinivas University and founder president of A Shama Rao Foundation.
The event was presided over by Dr A Srinivas Rao, honourable chancellor of Srinivas University. The programme was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr Adthiya Kumar Maiya, registrar (Academic), Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar (Development), and K Vilas Kumar, president of DKATDA, Mangaluru.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, IMC and IPSLM, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and industry associations in enhancing student employability and professional development.
Dr Adithya Kumar Maiya, registrar (Academics & Development), Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar (Development); and representatives of DKATDA including Harsha Kumar Kedige, vice president; Shashidhar Pai Maroor, secretary; and Rathnakar Pai, coordinator.
The MoU was formally signed to facilitate collaboration in areas such as student internships, industrial training, guest lectures, workshops, research activities, consultancy, entrepreneurship development, and industry interaction programmes. The partnership aims to create meaningful opportunities for students to gain practical exposure and industry experience while strengthening cooperation between academia and the automobile sector.
The dignitaries, in their addresses, emphasised the importance of industry–institution partnerships in promoting innovation, enhancing employability, and contributing towards sustainable growth and development.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Venkatesh B M, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, organisers, and members of Dakshina Kannada Automobile and Tyre Dealers’ Association (DKATDA), for making the event successful and meaningful.
