London, May 20: Arsenal ended their long wait for Premier League glory after being crowned English champions for the first time since 2004 following Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday.
The result left Arsenal with an unassailable four-point lead at the top of the table ahead of the final round of matches, sealing the title for Mikel Arteta’s side.
“I told you all… it’s done,” Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice posted on social media alongside a picture of teammates celebrating the historic achievement.

Manchester City needed a victory to keep the title race alive until the final day. However, despite Erling Haaland scoring a stoppage-time equaliser after Junior Kroupi had given Bournemouth a first-half lead, Pep Guardiola’s side failed to find the winning goal they desperately needed.
The draw officially ended Arsenal’s 22-year wait for the league title and brought immense celebrations among fans outside the Emirates Stadium, where supporters gathered in large numbers, lighting flares and celebrating late into the night.
Celebrations were also held at Arsenal’s training ground, where players had assembled to watch the decisive match together.
The triumph marks a major milestone for manager Mikel Arteta, who had endured the disappointment of finishing runner-up in each of the previous three Premier League seasons.
In both 2023 and 2024, Arsenal saw their title hopes dashed after Guardiola’s Manchester City overtook them late in the season. Last year, Liverpool also denied the North London club the championship.
This season, however, Arsenal maintained consistency throughout the campaign and successfully held off late pressure from rivals to finally reclaim the English crown.
Arteta’s squad now joins the ranks of Arsenal legends such as Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Ian Wright, who were part of the club’s previous golden era.
The celebrations may continue further if Arsenal manages to create more history later this month, when they face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final on May 30.
