Bengaluru, May 19: Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is lodged in prison in connection with the alleged murder of fan Renukaswamy, was visited by his wife Vijayalakshmi and son Vineesh at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
According to reports, Darshan spent nearly 30 minutes interacting with his wife and son during a meeting conducted under CCTV surveillance and in the presence of prison officials.
Sources said all conversations between the actor and his family members were recorded as per prison regulations.

Darshan married Vijayalakshmi on May 19, 2003, at the Dharmasthala Temple.
Meanwhile, Vijayalakshmi shared emotional posts on Instagram expressing support for her husband during the ongoing legal battle.
Sharing an old selfie with Darshan, she wrote, “I will hold your hand through every storm and every silence. Even when situations try to pull us apart, my heart will always choose you.”
In another post showing her hand touching Darshan’s, she added, “And even if the whole world stands against you, I will stand beside you, choosing you through it all.”
Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024, along with actress Pavithra Gowda and several others in connection with the alleged murder of Renukaswamy.
Police alleged that Renukaswamy had sent abusive messages to Pavithra Gowda, which reportedly angered Darshan and led to the crime.
Though rumours circulated regarding Pavithra’s relationship with Darshan, the actor’s lawyer had described them as “friends”.
Actor Vinod Prabhakar, son of late actor Tiger Prabhakar, also visited Darshan in jail.
Last year, Darshan had moved a court in Bengaluru seeking transfer from prison citing deteriorating health conditions. During the hearing, after the plea was rejected, the actor reportedly told the judge, “Just poison me, please pass this order.”
He had informed the court that he had not seen sunlight for nearly 30 days and was suffering from a fungal infection on his hands.
The court later allowed certain concessions within prison rules, including permission to walk inside the prison premises and use basic facilities such as an extra bed, pillow and bedsheet.
The court also warned that any violation of prison rules could lead to disciplinary action, including transfer orders by prison authorities.
