Mumbai, May 7: The acclaimed Emmy-winning drama series The Bear is set to conclude with its fifth season, with FX officially confirming that the upcoming instalment will mark the end of the popular culinary dramedy starring Jeremy Allen White.

The final season is scheduled to premiere on June 25, with all eight episodes releasing simultaneously on Hulu. The series is also expected to stream on JioHotstar in India.

Season 5 will begin after Carmy, played by Jeremy Allen White, decides to step away from the restaurant business, leaving Sydney, Richie and Natalie to run the restaurant amid mounting financial pressure and uncertainty.

According to the official synopsis, the team will attempt “one last service” while chasing the dream of earning a Michelin star, eventually realising that the true essence of a restaurant lies not only in its food but also in its people.

The announcement follows the surprise release of a special flashback episode titled “Gary”, featuring Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal. The episode explores Richie and Mikey’s work trip to Gary, Indiana.

Created by Christopher Storer, The Bear debuted in 2022 and quickly became a critical and commercial success. Its first season won 10 Emmy Awards, including Best Comedy Series, while the second season secured 11 Emmys. The third season earned 13 nominations.

The ensemble cast includes Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matty Matheson and Edwin Lee Gibson, with recurring appearances by Jamie Lee Curtis, Will Poulter and Oliver Platt.

The series has built a loyal fan following worldwide and is expected to draw significant attention as it prepares for its final chapter.
