Lucknow, May 7: Prashant Singh from Lucknow secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 102 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2024, achieving success in his fourth attempt.

Prashant shared his success mantra, stating that there is no shortcut to success. “Work hard with honesty and do not give up even after failures; success will surely come,” he said.

Prashant describes the UPSC examination as not just a test, but a rigorous journey of perseverance. He emphasized the importance of staying determined despite setbacks. “Even if you fail, you must remain steadfast and never give up. This principle helped me succeed in my fourth attempt,” he said. He revealed that he could not clear the prelims in his first two attempts and, in his third attempt, he was not selected even after reaching the interview stage. In his fourth attempt, he studied with the same energy, dedicating eight hours daily, and finally achieved success.

Prashant completed his schooling at CMS Aliganj branch and pursued his graduation from Delhi University. His father, Sushil Singh, is in government service, while his mother, Kankalata, is a homemaker. He hails originally from Khalilpur village in Jaunpur district. He has two sisters—one younger and one elder—who are also preparing for administrative services. Prashant advised aspirants aiming to become IAS officers to work sincerely, as that alone leads to success.
