Mumbai, May 2: Renowned playback singer Shreya Ghoshal says that both studio recording sessions and live concerts play an equally important role in shaping a singer’s artistic growth, describing them as two very different yet essential worlds.
Speaking during an interaction while travelling across continents for work, Ghoshal explained that her recently released live album from the “All Hearts Tour,” under Sony Music India, reflects the energy and emotional exchange of live performances, which she sees as distinct from studio work.

She said the studio environment feels like a “comfort zone,” where creativity flows in collaboration with composers, lyricists, engineers, and fellow musicians. According to her, the process of building a song from scratch carries a deeply personal and almost spiritual significance.
At the same time, she noted that live performances demand a completely different level of preparation, adaptability, and energy, as each audience and venue brings its own atmosphere. She emphasized that performing live requires planning, timing, and the ability to connect instantly with diverse crowds.
Ghoshal added that over her years in the industry, she has learned to navigate both spaces effectively and developed her own style of engaging audiences. She said she cannot choose between the two, as both studio sessions and live shows are integral to her identity as an artist.
Her latest release, the live album from the “All Hearts Tour,” captures this performance-driven aspect of her career and has been well received by fans.
