Amrita Rao celebrates 22 years of Main Hoon Na, calls it a timeless classic

Mumbai, Apr 30: Actress Amrita Rao turned nostalgic as her iconic film Main Hoon Na completed 22 years on April 30. Marking the occasion, she shared a heartfelt note reflecting on the film’s lasting popularity and its special place in audiences’ hearts.

Praising director Farah Khan, Rao described her as “ahead of her time,” highlighting her creative vision in everything from costumes and hairstyles to the memorable choreography of songs like “Chale Jaise Hawaayein.” She noted that the film’s music and overall style remain unmatched even today, adding that such films are rarely made anymore.

Rao also fondly recalled the film’s humour and unforgettable characters, including quirky roles played by Satish Shah and Bindu, as well as the charming storyline that resonated with audiences across generations. She described the movie as one that people grew up watching and continue to cherish.

In her message, she encouraged fans to share the film’s spirit with loved ones, echoing its emotional theme of always being there for someone special.

Released in 2004, the film starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, alongside Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Boman Irani, and Naseeruddin Shah, with Suniel Shetty portraying the antagonist. The film marked Farah Khan’s directorial debut and went on to become a major box office success.

Known for its hit soundtrack, featuring songs like “Tumse Milke,” “Gori Gori,” and the title track, Main Hoon Na continues to be celebrated for its music, performances, and blend of action, romance, and comedy.
