New Delhi, Apr 26: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has dismantled an interstate drug trafficking syndicate operating between Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region, recovering cocaine worth nearly Rs 5 crore.
According to officials, the operation was carried out by the Inter-State Cell (ISC) of the Crime Branch after specific intelligence inputs pointed to drug movement into Delhi. Around 0.5 kg of high-quality cocaine was seized, which was reportedly being distributed across Delhi and surrounding areas.

The case began on April 10, when police intercepted a suspect at Gazipur Roundabout in Delhi. The accused, identified as Javed Hussain (29) from Bareilly, was found carrying 456 grams of cocaine. A case was registered under provisions of the NDPS Act.
During interrogation, Hussain allegedly revealed details about his supplier, leading investigators to a follow-up raid on April 22 in Bareilly. With assistance from local police, authorities arrested another accused, Soib Khan (25), from his residence.
Police believe both individuals were part of a wider network involved in supplying narcotics to Delhi and nearby regions. Officials described the operation as a major success against an organised interstate drug racket.
The investigation team, led by Inspector Satendra Khari under the supervision of ACP Ramesh Lamba, coordinated the operation across state lines.
Preliminary findings suggest that both accused have no prior criminal history. Hussain reportedly worked in a jeans factory in north-east Delhi, while Khan was unemployed.
Soib Khan remains in custody as investigators continue efforts to identify other members of the syndicate and trace additional consignments. Further raids are underway.
Authorities said the seizure highlights ongoing efforts by the Delhi Police to disrupt organised drug networks and curb the flow of narcotics into the capital region.
