Mangaluru, Apr 19: The much-awaited grand finale of the Summer Camp 2026 at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru was held with great enthusiasm and vibrancy, bringing together moments of learning, laughter and celebration on April 16 in the school auditorium.

The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song, invoking god’s blessings and setting a thanksgiving tone for the closing ceremony. This was followed by a warm welcome note by Ruth Jacqueline Madtha, who graciously welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering.

The highlight of the morning was the sharing of experiences by the campers. Representing the junior group, Yuvaan, Sohaan, Sujith, Katrina, Pranvi, and Ifza delighted the audience as they spoke about their memorable journey. They vividly described the joy of the Mini Mela, the thrill of water games, the delicious snacks, and their curious explorations during the Little Scientist sessions. They also joyfully recalled engaging art and craft activities, creative clay modelling sessions, fun-filled outdoor games, the excitement of the big movie experience, and the much-loved Prince and Princess Contest that brought out their confidence and charm.

The senior campers too took the stage, enthusiastically recounting their experiences. They reflected on a vibrant and activity-packed camp that included creative explorations, interactive sessions, the colourful umbrella walkathon, clay modelling, the joy of outdoor games and hands-on activities that nurtured teamwork, confidence, and self-expression. They also highlighted the enriching personality development sessions and their scientific discoveries, making their journey both enjoyable and meaningful. The senior speakers included Avika Ravindra, Kiara Viegas, Medha Padiyar and Ruth Madtha.

Certificates were distributed to all the participants in recognition of their enthusiastic involvement and active participation throughout the camp. The moment was met with proud smiles and applause, celebrating each child’s effort and spirit.

Addressing the gathering, the administrator, Sr Carissima, shared an inspiring message, encouraging the children to remain healthy, active, and value-driven during their holidays. She appreciated the enthusiasm of the campers, the efforts of the organisers, and thanked everyone for making Summer Camp 2026 vibrant, energetic and fun filled.

The camp coordinator, Neetha, expressed that her heart was filled with mixed emotions, both joy and nostalgia as the camp concluded. She fondly acknowledged the spirited involvement of the campers and the tireless efforts of the team in making the camp a grand success.

The cultural segment added colour and vibrancy to the event. The UKG campers presented a beautiful fusion folk dance of Tulu, Kannada, and Konkani traditions, while the tiny tots of Nursery and LKG charmed the audience with their lively performance to the “Boom Boom Jungle” song. The senior campers raised the energy levels with spectacular performances in six groups, dancing to popular songs from various languages.

The grand highlight was the electrifying finale featuring the traditional Pili dance of Mangaluru, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Tulu Nadu.

The event concluded on a high note with a power-packed Zumba performance led by professional trainer Sandesh Monteiro, who had trained the students throughout the camp days, leaving the audience energized and delighted.

The masters of ceremony, including Vishruth S K, Roxanne Joanna, Iksha Harish, Shubham Santhosh, Lenora Corneleo, Joanna Saldanha, Christine Joseph, Kyra Jain, Alisha Mendonza, and Evelyn Bangera, conducted the programme with confidence and grace, ensuring its smooth flow.

A symbolic and emotional closing ceremony followed, where three vibrant umbrellas, opened during the inauguration of the camp on March 27 with the theme “Vibgyor,” were gently closed by the dignitaries, the camp coordinator, and a few campers, marking the official conclusion of the Summer Camp.

The campers then went for a short break and returned for the exciting game of Housie. The children participated with cheer, eagerness, and lively anticipation, enjoying every moment of the game, with many winning attractive prizes.

The grand finale culminated on a jubilant note as all campers savoured delicious ice cream and departed with gleaming smiles, carrying with them a treasure trove of unforgettable memories from a truly enriching summer.
