Kundapur: 52-year-old woman pedestrian killed in car accident at Vandse

Kundapur, Apr 16: A 52-year-old woman lost her life after being hit by a speeding car on the Kollur-Kundapur Main Road on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Shashikala, a resident of Vandse. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 pm in front of the Vandse GP office.

According to sources, Shashikala was walking along the side of the road to purchase groceries from a nearby shop.

A car travelling from Kollur towards Kundapur struck her with significant force, causing her to be thrown into a roadside drain. The car also veered off the road and landed in the drain a short distance away.

Shashikala sustained critical injuries in the impact. Although she was rushed to a private hospital in Kundapur, she breathed her last while in transit.

The Kollur police have registered a case regarding the incident and are investigating further.

    Shocking and sad indeed.No single day passes by without a accident and Pedastrian is killed to hear .Are drivers so blind or dont see a person walking at road side?Who will answer and take care of her home people children?Was he drunk ?Did anyone check ?or log drive?Or enimity with person?May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to her family.
