Dubai, Apr 15: Zanai Bhosle, granddaughter of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, is set to make her acting debut with the historical film The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

In the film, she will portray Rani Sai Bhonsale, the first wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, starring opposite Rishab Shetty.

Born in Mumbai in 2002, Zanai hails from a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry. Her father, Anand Bhosle, has also worked in films. Growing up under the influence of her grandmother’s rich musical legacy, she developed an early inclination towards the arts.

Before stepping into cinema, Zanai explored music, releasing singles like Main Heer Teri and Kehndi Hai, along with a few remakes, and has also built a presence on social media. Recently, she has been in the spotlight following widely circulated images of her mourning her grandmother’s passing, drawing both sympathy and public attention.

The film is directed by Sandeep Singh and will be released in multiple languages including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam and Bengali. It is slated for a theatrical release on January 21, 2027.

Her debut comes at a significant moment for the family following the demise of Asha Bhosle at the age of 92. Tributes poured in from across the industry and beyond, including from actor Ranveer Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman.
