Mumbai, Apr 13: Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday at the age of 92. She breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital following multi-organ failure, marking the end of an era in Indian music.
On Monday, megastar Amitabh Bachchan expressed his deep sorrow in a heartfelt blog post, mourning the loss of the iconic singer. He described her passing as the end of “an entire era,” calling her a phenomenal and unparalleled presence in the world of music.
Paying tribute to her artistry, he highlighted her extraordinary versatility and noted that while her physical presence is gone, her voice and legacy will live on forever. He also visited her Mumbai residence to offer his final respects.

The mortal remains of Asha Bhosle were kept at her residence for family and close associates to pay homage. She was accorded state honours, with her casket draped in the national tricolour. Her last rites were performed at Shivaji Park crematorium on Monday evening.
Asha Bhosle began her illustrious career with a song in the 1943 Marathi film Majha Bal. She later rose to prominence in Hindi cinema, delivering timeless classics such as Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani, O Haseena Zulfonwale Jane Jahan, Kya Ghazab Karte Ho Ji, and Ye Ladka Hay Allah Kaisa Hai Diwana.
With a career spanning over eight decades, she leaves behind an unmatched musical legacy that continues to inspire generations of artists and listeners alike.
