Dubai, Apr 10: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has called on citizens and residents across the United Arab Emirates to raise the national flag at homes, buildings and institutions as a symbol of unity and national pride.
The appeal, shared via his official account on X, comes ahead of a significant national moment, reinforcing the country’s collective identity and cohesion.

In his message, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted how the UAE emerged stronger and more united from recent challenges, noting that citizens and residents alike — across all sectors — stood together under the national flag.
The call aligns with the UAE’s longstanding tradition of observing national occasions such as UAE Flag Day and UAE National Day, where public participation plays a key role in expressing patriotism.
Residents have been encouraged to display the flag prominently in homes, balconies and entrances, while institutions and businesses are expected to ensure visible installations across offices and public spaces.
Over the years, such initiatives have transformed into widespread displays across city skylines and neighbourhoods, reflecting the country’s diverse yet unified social fabric.
Beyond the visual impact, the gesture underscores the leadership’s emphasis on unity in a multicultural society, reinforcing shared values of progress, stability and national cohesion.
