Kundapur, Apr 7: Four persons sustained injuries in a serial accident involving a car, a truck, and a scooter at Mullikatte Junction on National Highway 66 on April 6.

The injured have been identified as pedestrian Surya Kharvi, scooterist Manjunath, and car occupants Vatsala and Satish Shetty, who was driving the vehicle.

According to sources, the car, driven by Satish at a high speed, first rammed into a truck moving ahead of it. It then struck Surya, a pedestrian, before crashing into Manjunath's scooter, which was heading towards Kundapur.

Surya sustained severe injuries to his head and limbs, while Manjunath escaped with minor injuries. Local residents, along with Ibrahim Gangolli, the driver of the Gangolli 24x7 ambulance, assisted in shifting the injured to a nearby hospital.

The impact of the collision was such that the car was completely mangled, while the scooter was thrown to the side of the road. The front left portion of the truck also sustained damage.

Reckless and high-speed driving by the car driver is cited as the primary cause of the accident. Based on a complaint filed by the truck driver, Sridhar Naik, a case has been registered at the Gangolli police station.
