Kuwait City, Apr 5: Government and oil infrastructure in Kuwait City came under a drone attack, with the ministries complex building and Shuwaikh oil sector facility targeted amid escalating regional tensions.
Kuwait’s Finance Ministry said the “ministries building complex” was struck on Saturday evening in a “hostile drone attack” resulting from what it termed “unjust Iranian aggression.” The attack caused significant material damage, though no casualties were reported.
Videos circulating online showed flames rising from sections of the Shuwaikh oil sector complex, highlighting the scale of the impact. Emergency teams rushed to the site and contained the situation as per established procedures.

In a statement, the ministry said relevant authorities responded immediately, ensuring safety and preventing further damage.
The Kuwaiti military said its air defence systems were actively intercepting incoming threats. “Kuwaiti Air Defenses are currently responding to hostile missile and drone threats,” the army said, adding that explosions heard were due to interception operations.
The strikes come amid rising tensions in the Gulf, with Iran intensifying attacks in response to earlier operations by the United States and Israel, raising concerns over regional stability and security.
