New Delhi, Apr 1: Reigning ICC Men's T20 World Cup champions India national cricket team will tour Zimbabwe for a three-match T20 International series in July, Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed on Wednesday.

The matches are scheduled for July 23, 25, and 26 at the Harare Sports Club, with all games set to begin at 4:30 pm IST.

The two teams last faced each other during the Super Eight stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup in Chennai, where India secured a convincing 72-run victory. India’s previous tour of Zimbabwe came in July 2024, shortly after their T20 World Cup triumph, where they clinched a 4-1 series win.

Zimbabwe, who impressed in the 2026 World Cup by advancing to the Super Eight stage after topping a group featuring Australia and Sri Lanka, will aim to build on that strong showing. Meanwhile, India will head into the series following T20I assignments against Ireland and England.

Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni highlighted the significance of the series, noting that matches against India always attract major attention and provide a valuable opportunity for Zimbabwean players to test themselves against top-tier opposition.

Looking ahead, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has also announced that Zimbabwe will tour India in January 2027 for a three-match ODI series. This will mark Zimbabwe’s first bilateral tour of India since 2002, with matches scheduled to be played in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai on January 3, 6, and 9, respectively.

Makoni described the upcoming India tour as a landmark moment, expressing optimism that the bilateral engagements will strengthen ties between the two nations while offering Zimbabwe’s players valuable international exposure.
