Tennessee, Mar 28: Two students were killed and several others injured after a school bus carrying middle school children on a field trip crashed on Highway 70 in Carroll County on Friday, officials said.
The accident involved the bus, a state dump truck and a passenger vehicle, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The bus belonged to Kenwood Middle School and was transporting 25 students and five adults at the time of the crash.

Two students were pronounced dead at the scene, while several others sustained injuries. Multiple victims were airlifted to trauma centres in Memphis and Nashville, with seven helicopters deployed for emergency transport.
Bill Lee expressed grief over the tragedy, saying, “We are heartbroken over the loss of life,” and urged residents to pray for the victims and their families.
Officials said the crash also involved a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a state Department of Transportation dump truck. Preliminary findings suggest the dump truck may not have contributed to the accident, though investigations are ongoing.
Emergency responders from Carroll County and nearby areas rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. Authorities are continuing to probe the exact cause of the crash.
Local officials described the incident as a tragic day for the community, with Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden calling for prayers and support for those affected.
