No value for human life .. it has become dearth cheap and penalty imposed is peanuts. God alone knows whose fault it was which snuffed out Megha's life, but one thing is sure, the bus owner must've surely worked up a magic to save his image by coughing up the demand (we will never know - 100% sure this might have been out of court settlement from Megha's family) ELSE her family would've DEFINITELY raised a hue and cry and protested for a lenient punishment and levying of low fine for names sake - to show that some action was initiated. Something is fishy here.

There are several reasons and a whole bunch of issues that have made our roads in India unsafe and nothing but death traps. Every two minutes there is a death on our roads, thus making driving in India the single biggest menace. The drivers of large vehicles like Busses and Trucks are kings of the road. Most people do not follow traffic and safety rules, and there is no accountability as most get away with small fines or may spend a few months in jail. We all know someone that has died in a traffic accident, and this matter has been a topic of discussion. Yet most of us get behind the wheel, and we do not ALL following traffic rules.
