Mangaluru, Mar 16: The atmosphere at Lourdes Central School, Bejai was filled with excitement and pride as parents, teachers and students gathered on March 14 at the LCS Grounds to celebrate the Kindergarten Convocation Day for the academic year 2025–26. The occasion marked an important milestone in the lives of the young learners as they completed their kindergarten journey and prepared to step into the next phase of formal education.

The programme began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the tiny graduates. Dressed in adorable miniature graduation caps and gowns, the kindergarteners made a grand entry to the lively tunes of the school band, accompanied by the dignitaries and their teachers. The proud graduates were then escorted to the stage for a memorable group photograph along with the chief guest and dignitaries.

The distinguished guests present for the occasion included chief guest Belita Mascarenhas, former vice principal of Lourdes Central School, manager Dr John Baptist Saldanha, principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, vice principal Anita Thomas, Nirmal D’Souza, Avita Cynthia Pinto- vice president and secretary of Bejai Church Pastoral Parishad PTEC joint secretary Gowri Baliga, and KG coordinator Linet Pereira.

The formal programme commenced with a melodious prayer song invoking God’s blessings, followed by a delightful welcome dance. The KG 1 students extended a unique and heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries and the gathering. Linet Pereira introduced the chief guest, following which Belita Mascarenhas was felicitated by the dignitaries.

The ceremony’s highlight came when each graduate stepped onto the dais to receive their memento and certificate from the chief guest. The hall filled with cheers and applause from proud parents and families, making the moment truly memorable.

Linet Pereira then administered the graduation oath to the little graduates, encouraging them to grow into responsible learners. Representing the students, Samanvi Avinash and Jaydeep Kundu shared their joyful experiences of their kindergarten journey. On behalf of the parents, Dr Riana D’Souza expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the teachers and the school.

Chief guest Belita Mascarenhas highlighted the importance of strong parent–child relationships, emphasizing that children should be treated equally without comparisons so they can grow confidently and shine in society.

Dr John Baptist Saldanha shared a story about a little star, reminding everyone that every child shines in their own unique way. He also stressed that parents play a vital role in shaping their children’s character by spending quality time with them and guiding their overall growth.

The formal ceremony was followed by a vibrant cultural programme featuring a delightful dance drama that portrayed the journey of the little graduates—from their early days in school to becoming confident and smart students. The KG 2 students also presented a heartfelt gratitude song, expressing their love and appreciation for their teachers and parents.

The memorable and heart-warming celebration concluded with the school anthem, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a beautiful milestone in the lives of the little graduates.
