Hansika Motwani, Sohael Khaturiya end marriage by mutual consent

Mumbai, Mar 11: Actress Hansika Motwani and businessman Sohael Khaturiya have officially ended their marriage, with a family court in Mumbai granting them a divorce by mutual consent.

The couple, who tied the knot in December 2022, had been facing speculation about their separation for several months. The divorce was granted by the Bandra family court after the duo jointly filed a petition seeking dissolution of their marriage.

According to reports, Motwani chose not to claim any streedhan or alimony as part of the settlement.

During the proceedings, the actress was represented by advocate Adnan Shaikh. He stated that the couple stayed together only briefly after their wedding before realising that fundamental differences were affecting their relationship.

The petition submitted before the court stated that differences in temperament, viewpoints and lifestyle gradually led to repeated disagreements between the two. Even minor issues often escalated into arguments, making it difficult for them to continue living together.

The plea also mentioned that family members and close friends made several attempts to reconcile the couple and encouraged them to resolve their differences. However, those efforts did not succeed.

Motwani and Khaturiya have been living separately since July 2, 2024. After discussions, both parties decided to proceed with a mutual divorce and submitted affidavits confirming that neither side would make any financial or legal claims against the other.

The couple did not have any children during their marriage.
