Muscat, Mar 3: A youth from Someshwar in the taluk, who was employed in Oman, died by suicide while streaming a live video on social media, reportedly due to love failure.

The deceased has been identified as Puneeth Poojary (32), son of Chandrappa and Deepa from Someshwar. He had been working for the past one and a half years in a lift company in Oman. About one and a half months ago, he had returned to his hometown on leave and had recently gone back to Oman after completing his vacation.

Puneeth had been in a relationship for the past four years with a young woman from Urwa in Mangaluru. In recent days, the woman was reportedly not answering his phone calls or responding to his messages. It is said that Puneeth was deeply distressed over this and had shared his emotional pain with his friends.

According to close sources, Puneeth took the extreme step while broadcasting a live video on social media, unable to cope with the pain of separation from the girl he loved.

Family sources said that due to the tense situation prevailing in Gulf countries because of the ongoing war, legal formalities in Oman may take longer to be completed.

Puneeth is survived by his parents, a brother and a sister.

May be he is only loving for his pleasure. Materially he is not gifting anything to her may be. If no benefit who wants love? He should give something to her to make her happy. Anyways RIP
