Mangaluru, Feb 28: A road accident was reported at Padavinangady on Saturday after a speeding car allegedly hit a two-wheeler rider, causing chaos on the road.
According to eyewitnesses, an elderly man was riding his two-wheeler on the wrong side of the road when a car, reportedly moving at high speed, crashed into him.
At the same time, another two-wheeler rider who was approaching from the side reportedly noticed the speeding car, abandoned his vehicle, and moved aside to avoid being hit. His bike was also damaged in the commotion.
Locals alleged that overspeeding by the car driver and negligence on the part of the elderly rider led to the accident. Further details regarding the condition of the injured and police action are awaited.
