Coimbatore, Feb 22: Udhayanidhi Stalin on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that the people of Tamil Nadu would decisively reject the party in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing a meeting of DMK Youth Wing West Zone executives at Kaniyur in Coimbatore district, the deputy chief minister said Tamil Nadu would deliver a strong political response to the BJP.
“In the Assembly elections, the people of Tamil Nadu will blacken the BJP’s face,” he declared, drawing cheers from party workers.

He praised chief minister M. K. Stalin, describing him as a leader who has set an example in governance and democratic politics.
Udhayanidhi added that leaders from various states had expressed the need to wage a broader democratic battle nationally against the BJP under Stalin’s guidance.
Taking a dig at opposition parties in the state, he said some were conducting electoral surveys without even knowing the number of polling booths in Tamil Nadu.
He also accused Edappadi K. Palaniswami, general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), of compromising the party’s independence. “For selfish political gains, the AIADMK has been sold to the BJP,” he alleged.
The DMK leader asserted that his party was not intimidated by central agencies or Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We are not afraid of the ED, of Modi. The BJP is attempting to block developmental projects by citing elections as an excuse,” he said.
Criticising the Prime Minister, Udhayanidhi referred to the sudden announcement of the Covid-19 lockdown and demonetisation, claiming both decisions caused widespread fear and hardship. He further alleged that while the DMK government works to provide for the people, the BJP government “takes money from the people.”
He also took aim at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, mocking his recent visit to Karaikal, and reiterated that the DMK could not be weakened.
“Some people dream of destroying our movement. But no one can ever dismantle it,” he asserted.
