Kundapur, Feb 18: Miscreants allegedly trespassed into Kedoor Government High School here and damaged school property by breaking the notice board glass and entering a classroom, where they caused further destruction. The incident occurred on Monday.

In-charge headmistress Geetha had locked the school at around 5 pm on Saturday, February 14, after classes concluded. The incident came to light when she reported for duty at about 8:30 am on Monday, February 16. It is said that the miscreants entered the school premises, broke the glass of the school notice board, and entered a classroom where banners fixed on the wall were pulled down.

Further, a matchbox and tissue papers were found inside the classroom. The taps in the boys’ toilet were uprooted and the steel hand-wash sink was removed and thrown in the middle of the school ground, it is stated. In this regard, Geetha has lodged a complaint at Kota police station and a case has been registered.

It may be recalled that gutka and cigarettes were being found in the school premises, including the toilet, causing inconvenience to students. On January 13, a high school student Mahima had urged for urgent action on the issue during the children’s special gram sabha held at Kedoor gram panchayat.
