Brahmavar: Abhimatha Sambhrama event organisers booked for violating loudspeaker time limit

Brahmavar, Feb 18: A case has been registered at the Brahmavar Police Station against the president and office-bearers of Janaseva Trust (R), Giliyar, for allegedly violating the conditions imposed in the permission granted for the use of loudspeakers during a public programme.

The 'Abhimatha Sambhrama' programme was held at Gandhi Maidan in Handadi village, under the jurisdiction of Brahmavar Police Station. The organisers had been granted permission to use loudspeakers strictly between 6 pm and 10 pm on February 14. However, it is alleged that the organisers continued to use the sound system beyond the permitted time, thereby violating the conditions stipulated in the licence.

The police stated that the act caused inconvenience to the public and amounted to a violation of the Karnataka Police Act. Based on a report submitted by the complainant, a case has been registered.

The complaint was filed by police sub-inspector Ashok Malabagi of Brahmavar police station.
