Karnataka Social Club holds memorial meet for late Anand Lobo

Bahrain, Feb 9: The Karnataka Social Club–Bahrain organised a memorial prayer meet on Saturday, February 7, for the repose of the soul of its former president, Anand Lobo.

The prayer meet began with brief introductory remarks by the club’s president, Cletus Rodrigues. This was followed by prayers led by Sacred Heart Church assistant parish priest and Konkani community leader Vincent Serrano, who prayed for the departed soul and blessed the congregation.

Several prominent members of the Indian diaspora in Bahrain later spoke, recalling Anand Lobo’s valuable contributions to the Indian community in Bahrain as well as his service to society in his hometown of Mangaluru. Speakers remembered him as a committed leader who worked tirelessly for community welfare.

The memorial meet concluded with light refreshments served to those in attendance.
