Buntara Sangha Kuwait holds successful AGM, elects Shodhan Shetty Aikala Hiremane as new president

Kuwait, Feb 7: Buntara Sangha Kuwait (BSK) concluded its annual general meeting (AGM) on January 30, at the Indian School of Excellence Auditorium in Salmiya, marking a vibrant end to the outgoing committee's tenure under president Nakre Satishchandra Shetty.

The event featured cultural performances, recognitions of contributions and achievements, and the election of a new leadership team. The cultural programme was well-designed by cultural secretary Manoj Kumar Shetty.

Reception was efficiently managed by Deepthi Prashanth Shetty, with hall arrangements handled by Dushyanth Shetty. The proceedings were skillfully compered by hosts Sanidhya Sanath Shetty and Devi Prasad Shetty Nitte.

The programme commenced with a heartfelt tribute, "Nudi Namana" to the late Dr N Vinay Hegde, honouring his contributions to education and philanthropy. The management committee and former presidents lit the traditional lamp, while Deviprasad Shetty offered a prayer. Outgoing general secretary Vishwanath Shetty presented the 2025 annual report, and treasurer Sandesh Shetty submitted the financial accounts.

Felicitations highlighted participants from the Buntayana 2025 event, subcommittee members, academic achievers, and competition judges Guru Prasad Hegde and Jayashree Shetty. A special honor was bestowed upon outgoing president Satishchandra Shetty Nakre with a personal portrait painted by renowned artist Ajith Kumar Bepur. The cultural segment included dances, songs, and performances by extremely talented kids and sangha members.

Competitions were held in categories like Indian traditional attire for children and Tulunadu rural attire for adults, followed by prize distribution. The AGM transitioned to election proceedings, flawlessly conducted by electoral officer Yadunath Alva.

The newly elected office bearers for the upcoming term are:

President: Shodhan Shetty Aikala Hiremane

Vice president: Deviprasad Shetty Nakre

General secretary: Santhosh Rai

Treasurer: Prakash Shetty

Cultural secretary: Babitha Sanath Shetty

Public relations officer: Jayashree Sandesh Shetty

Sports secretary: Shammiraj Rai

All the newly elected office-bearers gave self-introduction and assured their commitment to Sangha. In his farewell address, outgoing president Satishchandra Shetty Nakre thanked all members, paid tribute to Dr Vinay Hegde while remembering his service, and urged continued support for the new team. Newly elected president Shodhan Shetty Aikala appealed for members' backing and committed to delivering diverse programmes while upholding the sangha's social responsibilities.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by general secretary Vishwanath Shetty and dinner for all attendees, fostering community spirit among the Bunt community in Kuwait.
