Light rain, cloudy skies and fog likely across Dubai, parts of UAE on Feb 6

Dubai, Feb 6: Parts of the UAE, including Dubai, are experiencing a spell of light rain and cloudy conditions, particularly during the early morning hours, as an unstable weather pattern continues to influence the region. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast light rainfall on Friday, February 6, 2026, with brief showers expected in some coastal and inland areas.

The weather change is attributed to shifting pressure systems and increasing cloud cover, raising the chances of rain, especially over northern and eastern parts of the country.

During the day, Dubai is expected to witness fair to partly cloudy conditions, with temperatures hovering around a pleasant 26°C, while night temperatures are likely to drop to around 17–18°C. As night falls, humidity levels are set to rise, particularly in coastal areas and islands, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist formation during the early morning hours.

Winds will remain light to moderate, blowing from southeasterly to northeasterly directions at speeds of 10–20 kmph, with occasional gusts reaching up to 30 kmph, adding a cool and breezy feel to the weather.

According to NCM satellite imagery, intermittent rainfall is most likely over Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. Heavier showers, however, are expected in the mountainous regions of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, where terrain-induced cloud formation could lead to more concentrated rainfall. Abu Dhabi is likely to remain mostly cloudy, with a comparatively lower chance of rain.

Authorities have also issued an early morning alert due to possible fog formation caused by high humidity and cooler night temperatures. Reduced visibility is expected on major roads in and around Dubai and neighbouring emirates. Motorists have been advised to drive cautiously, reduce speed and use headlights in foggy conditions.

Meteorologists note that this weather pattern is typical of the winter transition period, marked by increased cloud cover, intermittent showers and rising humidity at night. While heavy rainfall is not anticipated, the combination of clouds, light rain and fog is expected to persist through the day and possibly into the weekend. Residents are advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins.
