Udupi: 53-year-old woman dies after falling from moving motorcycle on NH 66

Udupi, Feb 1: A 53-year-old woman lost her life after falling from a moving motorcycle on National Highway 66 near Kinnimulki in Udupi on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Bhagirathi (53). According to police sources, her son, Rajat Acharya, was riding the motorcycle, with his mother seated as the pillion rider, while travelling from Katapady towards Udupi. Near Jai Wheel Alignment at Kinnimulki, the motorcycle reportedly skidded, causing the rider to lose control and both to fall on to the road.

Bhagirathi sustained severe injuries in the accident and was immediately rushed to the Udupi District Hospital for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries despite medical efforts.

The Udupi Traffic police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
