WPL: Delhi Capitals skipper Jemimah fined Rs 12 lac for slow over-rate

Vadodara, Jan 28: Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during her side’s Women’s Premier League clash against Gujarat Giants at the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium here on Tuesday.

Delhi Capitals suffered a narrow three-run defeat, slipping to fourth place in the points table.

In a statement, the WPL said, “Jemimah Rodrigues, Captain of Delhi Capitals has been fined after her team maintained a slow over rate during their team's match against Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara on Tuesday.”

“As it was her first offence of the season under the WPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Jemimah was fined INR 12 lakhs,” it added.

Delhi Capitals currently have six points with a Net Run Rate of -0.164, and remain in contention for a top-three finish to qualify for the WPL playoffs.

They will next face bottom-placed UP Warriorz on February 1.
