RIP! The condition of our tourist places is very precarious lacking even basic facilities of boats msde of rugged material & designed and built in certified shipyards with emergency safety equipment & periodic maintenance! The ferry operators are not accountable to any regulatory body & in the greed of making a fast buck, they are only focused on how many trips they can make in a day! Worst than third world places!

How sad. When one hears the comments of who travelled here .am sure no officials had inspected this and given permission .That shouldnt happen.Officials must look around and state of life jackets whether they are in good condition .May their souls rest in peace .Heartfelt sympathies to their families. Now who takes the responsibility?

There is no such thing as "SAFETY" in India. Most Tourist spots / utilities offered there are a death traps. I have taken the boat (Actually a Rusty old Bucket) to St. Mary's Island, believe you me, the to & fro ride as well as Boarding & alighting at the Jetty both places was a nightmare, totally disorganised, no safety in place, the life jacket's we were forced to wear smelt bad, dirty and torn, human life has no value in India, if something tragic happens we will say it was fate, the operators only interested in Maximum Revenue as can be seen from the badly maintained boats.

How can a boat capsize just like that.???? My observation on a tourist boat to st. Mary's island.. There were some young lady s in this boat. Suddenly a group of boys young men started rocking the boat 🚢 violently to the verge of collapse. Intension being to scare the girls. But it was extremely dangerous and life threatening. In Pilikula 26 girls died in a boat capsize. We have not learnt from previous mistakes. Being children of a smaller God we don't value human life.

Must be banned if there is no proper PPE or infrastructure to avoid these accidents. When the business is set up they must be responsible to save people if they drown, simple.
