Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 26: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour at St Agnes High School here on January 26, with students highlighting the message that freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility.

The celebrations began in the morning with headmistress Sr Gloria unfurling the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem sung in unison by the students. The programme then continued in the school hall with creatively prepared prayers centred on the National Emblem, Indian currency, the Constitution, the National Flag and the map of India.

The event was formally inaugurated with a warm welcome address by Maithri. A powerful skit depicting the life of Dr B R Ambedkar brought alive his relentless struggle and invaluable contribution to the framing of the Indian Constitution. Another meaningful skit on the rights and duties of citizens highlighted the crucial role of youth in nation-building, clearly conveying the message that the future of the nation rests in young hands.

The celebrations were further enriched by two vibrant patriotic dance performances that captivated the audience. The patriotic spirit reached its peak when the entire class joined together to sing “Aao Bachcho Tumhe Sunaye,” filling the hall with a sense of national pride.

An interactive quiz conducted by Manyata and Tamanah tested students’ knowledge of the Constitution and Indian culture. Headmistress Sr Gloria AC lauded the students for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated the meticulous planning of the programme by class teacher Preema Frank.

The programme was confidently anchored by Nishan, Sonal, Hrithik and Sara Yashpal, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Snehal, marking a memorable and meaningful Republic Day celebration.
