Udupi, Jan 25: A youth lost his life after a container lorry ran over him in Udupi city on Tuesday.
The tragic incident occurred in Kalsanka, opposite Paakashala Restaurant, when a container lorry travelling from Udupi to Manipal collided with a scooter from behind. The scooter rider fell onto the road and was subsequently run over by the lorry’s tyres.
The deceased has been identified as Avinash (29) of Manipal. Authorities confirmed that he died on the spot.
Further details regarding the accident are awaited, and local police have reportedly begun an investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision.
