Puttur, Jan 24: A tragic incident in which a youth allegedly stabbed his father and later died by suicide has been reported from Pade in Ramkunja village.

The deceased has been identified as Moksha, son of Vasanth Ameen, a resident of Pade in Ramkunja village. According to reports, Moksha got into an argument with his father for unknown reasons, following which he allegedly stabbed him with a knife. He later reportedly died by suicide using a gun kept at home.

Vasanth Ameen, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. The incident occurred on the evening of January 24.

Vasanth Ameen, a native of Seraje Perla in Kasargod, had purchased land and built a house at Pade in Ramkunja, where he was residing along with his son. Moksha was a student of a private educational institution in Mangaluru. The exact reason behind the incident will be known only after a detailed police investigation.

Police visited the spot and conducted investigation.
