Udupi: Man attempting suicide by jumping into Swarna river rescued by locals in Kallianpur

Udupi, Jan 22: A man who attempted to end his life by jumping into the Swarna river near Kallianpur was rescued in a timely manner by alert local residents.

The incident took place when fishermen who were engaged in fishing activities in the river noticed the man in distress.

Acting swiftly, they reached him by boat and managed to rescue him before any tragedy could occur.

Later, upon receiving information from former councillor Chinmaya Murthy, social worker Nithyananda Volakadu rushed to the spot and arranged for immediate first aid for the rescued person. After providing preliminary medical treatment, he was safely escorted to his residence in Ambalpady.
