Kuwait, Jan 18: The Ministry of Interior has announced that civil defence sirens will be tested across the country on Monday, January 19, at 10:00 am local time. Authorities stressed that the exercise is routine and there is no need for alarm.

The monthly tests are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the effectiveness of emergency alert systems and enhance public safety. The ministry confirmed that sirens will now be tested at 10:00 am on the first Monday of every month.

Officials explained that the exercises help verify the technical readiness and efficiency of the alert system, allowing civil defence teams to detect and address any issues in advance of real emergencies.

Additionally, the tests aim to familiarize residents with the sound of the sirens so they can respond appropriately during actual emergencies. Citizens and residents are advised that any siren heard at the scheduled time is a planned safety check and not a real threat.
