Rafah, Jan 14: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday reported that two armed individuals from Gaza were killed near the Rafah Crossing after attempting to approach an IDF position, the military confirmed.

According to Israeli media, the six militants emerged from an underground tunnel under the cover of darkness and stormy weather. Upon being detected, IDF tanks engaged the group, killing two immediately. The remaining four returned fire, though it remains unclear whether they were hit or managed to escape.

In a statement, the IDF described the incident as a “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement,” emphasizing the security risks posed by armed incursions near the crossing.
